Jordan Brandt Wins Round 1 of X-Country seriesJanuary 18th, 2009
Dicks Racing sponsored riders dominate the opening round of AMA D-36 X-Country series, winning the AA overall and A overall. On a sunny day at Prarie City OHV park, home of the Hangtown MX Classic, Jordan Brandt Won the AA overall in convincing fashion. Racing a Fully Modified Dicks Racing KTM, he made it look easy. This race was a tune-up for round 1 of the National Hare and Hound series next weekend. The bike featured the entire menu of Dicks Racing Modifications and Specialty Parts. After the race, Jordan commented on the performance of the machine, saying "it was awesome, especially the forks" which were the new 09 APS FORK MODS. After trying OPTION 1 and 2, saying both were better than stock, he was pleased to report that the APS mods were the BEST. Along with the matching Shock Mods the suspension is working "Perfect" In the A class, Vaughn Wilk broke out of his slump and not only won his class, but the A overall as well. Riding the YZF 450 featured in MXA magazine, Vaughn claims this bike can do no wrong. After a midpack start, he noted the other bikes ahead of him were "all over the place" when hitting rough spots. He would brace himself for the same impacts but nothing would happen. This led to elevated confidence and in turn he sliced through the pack for his first A class win. More are sure to follow. In the 60+ A class, Dicks Racing Team sponsor, Doug McCaleb humbly went about winning as well. Riding a Replica of the Dicks Racing Modified KTM 400 featured in Dirt Bike magazine, Doug was quoted saying "this bike is an absolute weapon" and contributed his success to "superior equipment".
